Turkey Day Shopping Trips

Today I decided to brave the stores and make 3 trips to get some good deals. Surprisingly none of the stores were busy (never went shopping on Thanksgiving so not sure if that is normal or not).

This is what I bought:

Wags #1:
Infusium 23 Leave in Treatment $4.99 (used $2 off coupon from All You mag - decent magazine but absolutely horrible customer service - it took them over 4 months to fix a simple problem)
Crayola 64pk $1.99

Total = $6.98
used $2RR
used $2 off coupon
= $3.19
Received $5RR + $1RR

CVS:
2 Matchbox Cars BOGO $1.99
Robe $9.99
Universal Remote $6.99
Vaseline Sheer Infusion $7.99 (used $1.50 off printable coupon)

Total = $28.95

Used:
Bogo cars - $1.99
$1.50 coupon
$4ECB
$4ECB
$5ECB
$10ECB
New Total = $4.35
Received $7.99ecb + $6.99ecb + $5ecb = $19.98 in ECBs

Wags #2 (different store):
Snuggie (yes I wanted one of those lame things lol) $9.99
Mickey Mouse Bowling Set $4.99

Total = $14.98
Used :
$1RR
$5RR
New Total = $10.03
Received $2RR back

I didn't do that great but not bad either. I didn't have but one $2RR to start with so obviously if I had more it would have been a lot better. There were a lot of good deals that I would have loved to take advantage of but I am pretty broke so I really need to control my spending and keep it to a minimum.

So I spent $17.57 which is more than I generally spend but I got $50.91 worth of stuff.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!!

Free Photo Cards

Here are 2 deals going around the internet that in case you are not aware of here they are:

50 free 4x8 photo cards (these seem to be the flat non fold kind) using code : newbaby here you will pay $3.19 for shipping

50 free 4x8 photo cards (these seem to be the flat non fold kind) using code :freebies4mom-1109 here you will pay $3.19 for shipping

Also if you are a new customer you can get 100 prints using code : prints (you pay shipping not sure what it will be).

Yes, you can do both. Just do one finish and check out and then do the other.

I did both even though I have no use for 100 cards but wanted 2 different photos. I wish when they had these deals they would let you use more than one photo (ie. have more than one card so say (2) sets of 25). Does anyone really send out 50 cards???

Nonetheless this is a very awesome deal.

I just used both codes at around 9pm Wednesday night and they both worked.

Did you bottle feed or breast feed?

Which did you do? And did you get grief from other mothers because of which one you chose? It seems like no matter which you choose to do someone out there will give you a hard time for your choice.

I chose to bottle feed for a few different reasons:

I take medication (life or death) and it could possibly be secreted in my breast milk (didn't want to take the chance)

I had to go to work right away after having my son (not by choice believe me)

The convenience of it (as in I don't have to be the one to feed my child - which yes, I know you can pump and put it in a bottle)

I got a lot of grief from other mothers who breast fed. I personally feel that it is a personal choice and which choice is correct is up to your individual situation. But it doesn't seem like too many others feel this way. I really believe we as mothers should stick together and support each other and not alienate each other.

I mean there are pros and cons to each. I knew a mother who breastfed who could only breast feed her daughter flat out refused to drink her breast milk out of a bottle. I saw my friend never really have any time to go do something without her daughter because of this. She also had clogged milk ducts which ended up being very painful for her. I had another friend who had no problems at all with breast feeding. So it just goes to show that you need to do what is best for your personal situation. You shouldn't feel guilty for whichever you choose. Just be a good mom!!! :)

See my side widget for a little video about the whole breast/bottle feeding ordeal. Also you can order some pretty customized Christmas Cards from Paper Culture.

Walgreens

Diapers $5.99
Aussie $2.99
Christmas Bag .29 cents (this was a filler)

Total = $9.27

Used the following;
$5RR
$1 off Aussie
$1RR

New Total = $2.92 wih $2RR back from Aussie (which supposebly rolls)

CVS 2nd Trip

This one was using my mother's card. I was going to try the Cover Girl again but didn't want to deal with it.

Glade Holder $3
4 Glade Refills @ $3ea = $12

Total = $15

Used the following:
Buy Holder get refill free - $3
Buy 2 refills get one free - $3
$6.99 ECB
.50 cents ECB

New Total = $2.53 and I received $4ECBs back.

These will be Xmas gifts like all of the other Glade items I have bought in the last 4 to 6 months.

This also qualifies for the $5 rebate from here. Which you can do 3 times. Now I have enough for 3 times.
