RIP Jack LaLanne
He will surely be missed. I am sure all of you know who this man is. I mean really how can't you? He was in better shape in his senior years than most are in their 20's and 30's. At the age of 60, he swam from Alcatraz Island to Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco—handcuffed, shackled and towing a boat. If that is not impressive I don't know what is.

A Tad Disappointed at The Children's Place
If you have ever read this blog you know that I buy a large amount of my son's clothing from The Children's Place. Even though I buy 99% of it on clearance I still in the long run spend a lot of money there each year.
I joined their Place Perks a little while ago (received an email about joining it). Today I received my $10 off reward coupon via the mail (x amount in purchases you receive this- purchase must total a certain amount to receive). I got it today (the 18th) and it expires on the 29th of this month. Also it is only valid for store use and not online.
I have not even 2 weeks to use it and it has to be in store. I never go to the mall and only shop with them via online. It would be one thing if it was valid for at least a month but less than 2 weeks?
I will either have to completely go out of my way (I never go within even 5 miles of the mall - total other side of town that I never go to ever) or let it go to waste.
Grrr....

I buy most of my son's clothes here (also at Kohls and Old Navy) and I only buy when they are super cheap on sale like they are now. This is the time to stock up!!!

CVS Xmas 75% off
I noticed that all of my CVS stores have their Xmas stuff at 75% off right now. This is a very good time to stock up on Christmas items for next year. Think gift bags, gift tags, wrapping paper, boxed cards, holiday toys, ornaments, candy canes etc. I saw lots of cute stuff.
Also that Extreme Fit was marked down to 75% off (this is a generic Wii Fit) which means it is now $12.50 (down from $49.99) so now would be a good time to buy this if you had wanted it.
I noticed that all of my Walgreens no longer had any Christmas items. I got lucky at one store and got items at 75% off because of a mistake that the manager honored for me. But he told me that corporate only wanted the food items at 75% and the rest at 50% off then those items would be held back for next year. He said he would much rather just sell the stuff now but it was not up to him. But lucky for me a store employee had put up 75% off signs on all the Christmas stuff.
I have all my Christmas stuff for next year and have items that are reusable for years to come. I also have some clothes and shoes for my son for next year too. I am trying to stock up on items now while I am still working so come next Christmas when I am not working (and going to school full time) I won't have to worry about Christmas stuff. Though I will probably still buy some stuff here and there using ECBs and RRs.

The New Year
Well, this year has already turned out to be full of events. Not so good ones at that. But I am hoping to turn things around and make this an awesome year.
Some of my goals include:
Going back to school.
Quitting my job (this will be the most wonderful day of my life lol).
Living off of my stockpiles.
Cutting way, way back on my spending.
Spending more time with my son.
Doing crafts with my son.
Selling all of our stuff we no longer need on ebay, craigslist, esty and here on this blog.
Getting back in shape.
Jogging or at least seeing if my knee can handle it (thanks to my job my knee is messed up).
Massive cleaning overhaul on my apartment.
Eating healthier.
Find a babysitting job to do on the weekends for extra money.
Go to a couple of temp services to try and work 1 week a month for extra money.
Write more in this blog.
Offer more contests on this blog (I already have a few in the works).
Granted, going back to school and quitting my job to do so will mean I will end up getting in debt but I know in the long run it will be worth it. I will be going for every single grant and scholarship I can get so I will only have to take out a living expense loan which I will be only getting one for 10k per year (plan to not work and go to school full time for 2 years- then after that work part time and go to school part time until I get my bachelors degree).
