Winn Dixie

I generally never shop there but today on the radio I heard something that made me want to stop.

Here is the deal (which is good till the 5th and is 1 deal per transaction):

Buy 2 Tombstone Pizzas for $11.58 (kind of pricey but....)

and get the following free:

Winn Dixie 10.5 oz Garlic Bread Sticks
Farm Rich 10 oz Mozzarella Sticks
2 Liter Coca Cola Product
48 oz Breyers Ice Cream

Yes, you get all of the above for $11.58!!!

The manager (whom was checking me out) even told me (without me asking) that you can do seperate transactions if you want more than 1 deal. I have a very small freezer so that won't work for me. :(

When was the last time you went out to dinner?

If you are like me it has been a very long time. Maybe you are too busy, can't get a sitter or just can't afford it. I know these days I cannot. Not that prior to me becoming a mommy I went out a lot. Though compared to now it sure seems like I always was going out to eat. I have taken my son out to eat a few times but it is rather difficult especially if it is just the two of us. If someone else tags along it makes it so much easier!!

Restaurant.com does help a lot with the price though. You can score loads of gift certificates for dirt cheap from them. They always have some sort of special going on. I know I have purchased them many times as gifts for people and for myself throughout the last few years. Easy to do just go to their website, put in your zip code and see what they have to offer (always read the fine print on each one since they differ) and you can score yourself a cheap night out. Well, a cheap dinner anyways. Too bad they didn't have gift certificates on there for babysitters.

If you notice on the side of my blog there is a widget (JuiceBox Jungle) with a survey asking which you would prefer: Going out with your SO or your friends? Who would you choose?

Wags

This was 3 different trips. I am making one more trip tonight to get some more that I should have got when I was there. But thought I already had those ones. These will be used as an incentive for potty training.

3 trips for a total of 10 Hot Wheels Total = $5.42 (total for all)

There is a Wags coupon (in sales flyer) that makes them .49 cents each. Regularly $1.29 ea.

Would have loved to do the Zooth Toothbrush deal but none of the stores had any as usual. Same goes for CVS with the Thermacare which would have come in handy since I go through those things like crazy.

Publix

Went and bought more stuff at Publix.
I bought :
3 Nivea @ $3 ea = $9 used (3) $1 off coupons = $6
Cover Girl Puffs $2.49 used $1 MC off and $2 off Publix Coupon = + 51 cents overrage
Cover Girl Sharpner $2.49 used $1 MC off and $2 Publix Coupon = + 51 cents overrage
Goody Bobby Pins .99 cents used $1 Publix Coupon = + .01 cents overrage
Revlon Nail Files $1.69 used $2 Publix Coupon = + .31 cents overrage
Total before taxes and coupons = $16.66
The coupons added $1.34 in overrage.
Total after taxes and coupons = $5.33
Not too bad.

Want to see how much $ you will actually bring home if you get a raise etc. ?

Go here. It takes out the taxes for you so you can see how much your paycheck will be if you get a new job, raise or work more or less hours.

I was trying to figure out how to calculate your federal withholdings and I could not figure it out. It differed so much depending on hours and I tried to figure out the % but it changed per hours. Then I found this and it worked!!! It was only like 40 cents off on the many and many paychecks I compared it to. Awesome!!

I received my photo mugs and I am very pleased. I got them for my sister so hopefully she will like them. She is the type who doesn't like anything you get her. A regular ol' grinch if you will! haha

Here is the info.

I bought tons of chocolates for last minute Xmas gifts. Spent over $25 and received the $5 Christmas Bucks which I will use for diapers.

I didn't really get any good deals just bought them cause I needed them so I won't bother with listing what I got and how much I spent.

An Open Letter to MSN

Please stop changing the homepage. It is very annoying to get used to it and then have it change. This is the second time in I believe less than 2 years. Not too mention that now every time I go online all of my info is no longer there (ie. my zip codes for the weather are now all NY - I could care less what the weather is in NY).

I am now going to change my homepage to something else because I am sick of having to constantly redo over and over my settings.

Sincerely,
An Annoyed Ex MSN Homepage User

**Anyone have any suggestions for a new homepage? Thanks!!

Need photo editing software?

If so I would suggest downloading Picasa (it's free too!!).

I have been using it for years now and I really like it. It is super easy to use. I just realized the other day that it actually has a retouch feature (if only I saw this years ago). And it is simple to use and actually works! My son without fail everytime he is supposed to get photos done has some sort of scratch or bruise on his face. Recently he got Xmas photos taken at school and yep, he had various blemishes of one sort or another on him. So I get the photos back and I wasn't too happy. Well, I scanned them and then used the retouch feature and ta da! no more blemishes!!

Anyways I just noticed that feature the other day and wanted to let you all know that this is good software and you can actually get rid of pimples, bruises etc. on your photos. Here I thought I was going to have to buy Photoshop. It is under basic fixes and it called retouch.

Turkey Day Shopping Trips

Today I decided to brave the stores and make 3 trips to get some good deals. Surprisingly none of the stores were busy (never went shopping on Thanksgiving so not sure if that is normal or not).

This is what I bought:

Wags #1:
Infusium 23 Leave in Treatment $4.99 (used $2 off coupon from All You mag - decent magazine but absolutely horrible customer service - it took them over 4 months to fix a simple problem)
Crayola 64pk $1.99

Total = $6.98
used $2RR
used $2 off coupon
= $3.19
Received $5RR + $1RR

CVS:
2 Matchbox Cars BOGO $1.99
Robe $9.99
Universal Remote $6.99
Vaseline Sheer Infusion $7.99 (used $1.50 off printable coupon)

Total = $28.95

Used:
Bogo cars - $1.99
$1.50 coupon
$4ECB
$4ECB
$5ECB
$10ECB
New Total = $4.35
Received $7.99ecb + $6.99ecb + $5ecb = $19.98 in ECBs

Wags #2 (different store):
Snuggie (yes I wanted one of those lame things lol) $9.99
Mickey Mouse Bowling Set $4.99

Total = $14.98
Used :
$1RR
$5RR
New Total = $10.03
Received $2RR back

I didn't do that great but not bad either. I didn't have but one $2RR to start with so obviously if I had more it would have been a lot better. There were a lot of good deals that I would have loved to take advantage of but I am pretty broke so I really need to control my spending and keep it to a minimum.

So I spent $17.57 which is more than I generally spend but I got $50.91 worth of stuff.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!!

Free Photo Cards

Here are 2 deals going around the internet that in case you are not aware of here they are:

50 free 4x8 photo cards (these seem to be the flat non fold kind) using code : newbaby here you will pay $3.19 for shipping

50 free 4x8 photo cards (these seem to be the flat non fold kind) using code :freebies4mom-1109 here you will pay $3.19 for shipping

Also if you are a new customer you can get 100 prints using code : prints (you pay shipping not sure what it will be).

Yes, you can do both. Just do one finish and check out and then do the other.

I did both even though I have no use for 100 cards but wanted 2 different photos. I wish when they had these deals they would let you use more than one photo (ie. have more than one card so say (2) sets of 25). Does anyone really send out 50 cards???

Nonetheless this is a very awesome deal.

I just used both codes at around 9pm Wednesday night and they both worked.

Did you bottle feed or breast feed?

Which did you do? And did you get grief from other mothers because of which one you chose? It seems like no matter which you choose to do someone out there will give you a hard time for your choice.

I chose to bottle feed for a few different reasons:

I take medication (life or death) and it could possibly be secreted in my breast milk (didn't want to take the chance)

I had to go to work right away after having my son (not by choice believe me)

The convenience of it (as in I don't have to be the one to feed my child - which yes, I know you can pump and put it in a bottle)

I got a lot of grief from other mothers who breast fed. I personally feel that it is a personal choice and which choice is correct is up to your individual situation. But it doesn't seem like too many others feel this way. I really believe we as mothers should stick together and support each other and not alienate each other.

I mean there are pros and cons to each. I knew a mother who breastfed who could only breast feed her daughter flat out refused to drink her breast milk out of a bottle. I saw my friend never really have any time to go do something without her daughter because of this. She also had clogged milk ducts which ended up being very painful for her. I had another friend who had no problems at all with breast feeding. So it just goes to show that you need to do what is best for your personal situation. You shouldn't feel guilty for whichever you choose. Just be a good mom!!! :)

See my side widget for a little video about the whole breast/bottle feeding ordeal. Also you can order some pretty customized Christmas Cards from Paper Culture.

Wags

Waglreens Diapers $5.99
Ricola 19 count $1

Total before taxes and RRs = $6.99

Used a $5RR

New total = $2.41 and also received $1RR for the Ricola.

Not much I really want this week. But next week on Thanksgiving there are so many things I want but all of my RRs will already be expired and I see nothing worth rolling them on this week. So with the other 2 $5RR's I have it will be diapers.

I figure I can buy 2 more packs of diapers for $1.41 a pack. I wish I would have had more coupons for the meters so I would have had more RRs.

CVS

Today was the first time I had a somewhat bad experience at CVS. So I will not be shopping at that store for awhile and I will see how my experiences at the other ones are. I am actually pretty good on everything aside from diapers at the moment. Well, that and I suppose I can always buy more toilet paper. So I am going to try to cut down on buying anything unless it is free or it is too good of a deal to pass up. I am done with Xmas presents just have to now get pics of my son to send away for free Xmas cards.I might have to buy wrapping paper and bags I have to see what I have left from last year.

2 Glade Sense & Sprays @ $6 ea = $12 minus (2) $4 off coupons = $4
2 Kleenex @ .99 cents ea = $1.98
Cover Girl Foundation $13.00
Cover Girl Blush $10

Total before coupons = $36.98

Coupons (including above):
$4 off Glade (this is why I did not use the ones on the boxes)
$4 off Glade
$10 off Cover Girl (buy foundation get face product free)
$5 off $30 CVS coupon
$6.99 ECBs
$3.50 ECBs

Total after coupons and taxes = $5.84

Extra Care Bucks I received = $14.00 ($10 Cover Girl + $4 Glade)

The women scanned my tag on my bag prior to scanning any items she muttered to herself on it's not ours. Then she told me I could not use the Cover Girl coupon because it was not pictured on the coupon. I said that it doesn't specify which ones it just says Cover Girl foundation so she called the manager. He looked at it and just kind of gave a look like why did you bother me and said that it was fine since it did not specify which kinds. Then she goes on to tell the other 2 cashiers how CVS is getting smarter about coupon fraud yadda yadda (basically implying that I was committing it - with a huge amount of customers behind me no less) and how now the register makes the cashier check to see you have the correct item when using a coupon. Funny, how the manager himself had no problem with the coupon but she did.
So then I ask her if she scanned my tag and she said she already did. I figure she must of when I was not looking. After I get to my car I see no, she did not. It still only has two scans and this should have been my third. Grrr.

Wasn't too happy that she made such a big deal about my coupon. I was using them correctly and it wasn't like I got my entire order for free or anything. Do they not understand that the manufacturer reimburses the store??? Also she is just a cashier so why would she care? She is probably only making min. wage or somewhere close to it so why would she even bother caring? It isn't like it is coming out of her pocket.

Pics later when batteries charge.

My Target Trip

Luvs Diapers $7.49 minus $5 off coupon = $2.49 NOT PICTURED
Up & Up Wipes $1.29 minus $1 off coupon = .29 cents!! (sadly, Target only lets you use 1 of their coupons at a time - I wish the limit was 3) NOT PICTURED

Toddler Long Sleeve PJ Top (missing bottoms)$3.21
2 - 2pks of AAA Batteries @ $1 ea minus $1 off coupons = zero

Total after coupons (listed above) and taxes = $13.92

I also got the .05 cents off for bringing my own bag.

I plan to go back to Target tomorrow for more wipes. Well, 1 pack. I guess I will just keep going back for wipes every day or so. I have 8 coupons that don't expire until December 5th and I would like to use them. I might use 1 coupon on a pack of diapers though (since my son is just not liking the potty training lol).

Walgreens

I really hate shopping there. Each time I go I wonder what will be the outcome. Will it go good or will it go bad. What crazy thing will I be told this time. Does this sound familiar to you? I have read so many posts online about how disappointing people's shopping trips to Walgreens have been. Calling Corporate doesn't seem to help either.

Don't get me wrong I have some very good shopping trips there but I am always nervous when I shop there. They really do make you feel like a criminal for using coupons.

Today I went to buy 2 Sense and Sprays which were on sale for $4.99 each. When I walked in I grabbed one of their November coupon books and saw that they had a $1 off the purchase of 2 Glade products. I thought cool!! I will get a total of $9 off with my 2 $4 off coupons and that one. So I picked up 2 and also got a filler (even though I knew I did not need one since the 3rd coupon was a Walgreens coupon)but I do this just so they can't say something about # of coupons and items.

I give the girl my coupons with the Wags one underneath. She scans that one first and it only took off .50 cents. Then she proceeded to scan the other two and then she gave me my total. I told her but it only took off .50 cents. She tells me "we aren't even supposed to take these coupons" (meaning the Wags one) so I say but they are yours. She then tells me that they don't even have the books out because they are messed up. I explain to her they are right out with the ads in the display. She then tells me she can't adjust the coupon (funny that I have seen them do it numerous times). I didn't feel like having a manager come over and tell me the same story so I let it go. But still it gets so old. They make up new rules and have different stories every day. And each store is different. It drives me crazy.

I just wanted those so at Thanksgiving my mother's house does not smell like dog! lol

Want 40% Off Your Order at Kodak Gallery?

I am sure by now you have all received your $15 off code. But would you also like a code for 40% off your order? It doesn't expire until December 1st so it would be great for Xmas. You might even be able to use them together (not sure though).

I have some last minute cancelations for my Kodak party and will have some extra codes available. I would post them here but they are all different and I would hate for someone not to be able to use one because it was already used by another reader. So comment me with your email addy (I will not publish comments) and then I will email you a code (please check your spam and bulk folders for my email just in case).

Again it's a code for 40% off your order at Kodak Gallery. Expires 12/01/09.

Publix

I wanted to get things to qualify for the P&G Cooking Up Early Detection Promotion. Sorry but cannot find any links from P&G websites and saw that it said something about not being aloud to post it without permission. So google it and you will see info on other boards about it.

You buy $25 worth of P&G products from participating stores (I know Publix is one and am not sure of others). You then send in your receipt and UPC codes and receive a pink kitchenware set. The $25 is after coupons. I called and asked. Here is the phone number to call for more info : 1-877-733-5849. Good from 9/11/09 to 11/20/09.

I bought the following:

Pampers Boxed Diapers $19.99
Pampers Baby Wipes Refill $5.99
Bounty 2 pk $2.99
Halloween Cookie Cutters .59 cents (these have nothing to do with the promotion)

$29.56 before taxes and coupons/gc

Used =
$1.50 off Pampers Diapers
.50 cents off Pampers Wipes
= $27.56
$29.63 after taxes and coupons

Paid with the following:
$10 GC
$10 GC
$10 GC
Total = zero out of pocket

I could have had better deals but I needed diapers and wipes so I figured this would be a good way to get the cookware set and not have to pay for diapers.

Target Trip # 3

I saw that Target had toddler jeans on sale for $4.90 so I decided to go back and buy some. Also was hoping Halloween would be 75% off but no such luck.

I bought so much stuff but it was all needed. Was able to use some gift cards to make it less.

I bought the following:

3 Cherokee Toddler Jeans (3 different finishes) @ $4.90 ea = $14.70
2 Hanes Toddler Fleece Sweat Pants (?) @ $3.99 ea = $7.98
3 Long Sleeve Toddler T-Shirts @ $4.00 ea = $12.00
1 Flannel Western Toddler Shirt $3.98
5 Toddler Socks from Dollar Bins $5.00
1 Halloween Toddler Sock .50 cents

1 Halloween Purple Gloves (for me) .50 cents

Timer (for potty training) $3.29

3 Photo Cubes (to use for Xmas gifts) @ $1.00 ea = $3.00

Used my bag and got 5 cents off.

Total = $54.46 (20 items) but used $30 in gift cards to make it $24.46.

Walgreens Trip # 2

Their Halloween stuff is 75% (aside from candy).

I bought the following:

Pumpkin Power Saw $1.99
Pumpkin Carver Kit $1.24

Total = $3.46

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Halloween Crayola Crayons 20pks $2.48 (good to keep a bag in my purse, in the car etc.)
Halloween Playdoh Packs 20 cans $2.49

Total = $17.45

Halloween was only 50% off. I could have waited but wasn't sure what would be left.

I did see on my receipt that my Target is also giving 5cents off each time you use a reusable bag. I heard about this but had not been to Target for awhile.

Monday, November 2, 2009

Target Trip # 1

2 Count Chocula $1.68 ea = $3.36
Chocolate Bat Cookie Mix with Bat Cookie Cutter $2.49
Vanilla Ghost Cookie Mix with Ghost Cookie Cutter $2.49

Total = $8.34

Walgreens Trip # 1

I bought 4 boxes of Queen Anne Cherries for $10 and received $5 Register Rewards back. These are for Xmas gift bags. So it's like buying 4 boxes for $5. These are large boxes too not the smaller normal sized boxes but good size.

Has anyone bought this?

I really want to buy it when I move for a second phone line. This way I can keep my Vonage phone with this area code and have the Magic Jack one with my new area code. I just want to keep my bills to a minimum but would like to keep my number now and have a new number. Figured this would be the cheapest way to do it.

If anyone has bought this please let me know how you like it or don't like it. Thanks!!

I still have to say even if it doesn't work too great it is still a great deal even if you just use it for an additional line. Though for some reason I thought before it was only $39.99 and there were no monthly nor yearly fees. Maybe I am wrong but I thought that was what it was before. But hey who can complain about 20 bucks a year!!!

2nd Trip to CVS

I had $7 ecb to burn from my mother's card (she never shops there so I have one of her cards)

I had planned on buying the Wet & Dry Auto Vac that is only $9.99 but it uses your cig. lightner thing in your vehicle which mine doesn't work. So I could not buy that.

Instead I bought the following:

Shoes Under Storage $9.99
Hangtag for reusable bag .99

Total before taxes and ecbs = $10.98

Ecb's I used :
$7

Total after ecbs and taxes = $4.75

Dr Seuss

These would make a really nice gift for a grandchild. Remember with any type of book type club to always read the fine print and see what the buying requirements are.

Walgreens

I have neuropathy in my hands and feet and it drives me crazy. I have been wanting to try Neuragen but it costs $29.99 for a tiny little bottle. So I have been waiting and waiting.

I was able to print a $10 off coupon from their website here. Use code D0709101 (those are zeros) which is the code for $10 off. The last ad's code is only $5 off.

Walgreens October coupon booklet has a $10 off coupon as well. That one is a Walgreens coupon so you can use both.

Here is what I bought:

Neuragen $29.99
2 Xmas gift bags @ .29 cents each = .58 cents (these were fillers)

Total before coupons and taxes = $30.57

Coupons I used:
$10 off Neuragen
$10 off Walgreens Neuragen
$8 RR

Total after above = $2.62!!!

So I will let you all know if that stuff works or not.

Print this before it goes away!

I have acne and currently am using Acne Free but I am going to try this one out and see how it works. $5 off is pretty good especially since more than likely CVS will have some sort of special on it if not some other store.

Update - Computer Issues

My computer is still behaving badly. So I am not sure how much I will be able to post until it gets fixed. I will post anytime it is actually cooperating and letting me view webpages and will try to post things in advance like I have been doing. That is of course if my computer lets me. :(

I am going to try and prepost a lot today but lots of times it will only behave for 10 minutes or so. So we will see.

And the winner is...............

Sorry that it took me so long to post. Today has been the first day that I have been able to actually view any webpages. Not sure what was/is wrong with my computer but hopefully, system restore fixed it. I did scan for viruses but none were found. Not sure what's wrong.

It does seem like I have had more problems with my computer since I upgraded to the newest version of Internet Explorer so maybe that is it.

Please get in touch with me in the next 72 hours so I can get the necessary info from you. I will also email you just in case.

Asian Totes Conest Coming Up (Again)

In light of me being an idiot and realizing I accidently turned off the option to comment on my posts I will be having another Asian Tote giveaway in approx. 2 weeks. Now I realize why I had so few entries (kinda of hard to enter when you can't comment huh? lol). I had chosen hide comments on my blog so that no one could see people's email addresses. Which I ended up doing that I think the same day I had posted the contest so only a few people got in prior to me changing the comment settings. Whoops!

So if you had wanted to enter last time but could not (I apologize!!!) you will have another chance. Also if you tried to enter the Nature Valley Crunch one and could not, you can now enter it!

Thanks and good luck!!

**And don't worry I will not publish any comments so this way no one (including spammers) can get your email addresses! So I will be the only one whom can see them.

Thursday, October 15, 2009

Sorry!!!

I accidentally turned off the comments so if anyone was trying to enter my contest and leave me a comment it is now turned on. But don't worry I will not publish any of the comments so your email addy is safe when you comment with it.

Walgreens Toys Trip # 2

This was my second trip to Walgreens to buy some xmas toys for my son using Register Rewards.

I bought :

Diego Toy Vehicle Set $9.99
Train Set $9.99

Total before rr's and taxes = $19.98

Register Rewards I used :
$8RR from Theraflu last week
$8RR from Theraflu last week

New total after rr's and taxes = $5.38

I could have paid less out of pocket by using another RR and buying a cheap filler but I was car less and was with my mother. So I didn't have time to look around for something cheap. I am almost done with my son's bday and xmas gifts. I think I am done already with the rest of my family though. Well, their Christmas presents that is. :)

Walgreens Toys Trip # 1

Last's week goal with the Theraflu deal was to use the Register Rewards for toys for my son's Xmas and b-day presents. I did the Theraflu deal 4 times (I think)since my mother had been sick with the flu and I knew that we all would be getting it again. So I knew that I could definitely use all of that Theraflu and give some to my mother too.

Here was my first transaction this was with Register Rewards from Vaseline lotion and the Theraflu when you bought only 2 (before I knew about the much better deal when you bought 3).

Walgreens has loads of toys that are $9.99 and there are probably about 7 I would not mind having for my son. They also have some that are $6.99 or 3 for $13.99 (if only they had that kind of deal for the $9.99 ones).

So with this first trip here is what I bought:

Cow Laptop Toy $9.99
2 Pack of Sponges (desperately needed these) $2.99

total before coupons and taxes = $12.98

Register Rewards I used :

$7RR
$4RR

Total after rr's and taxes = $2.89
