Super Easy Crockpot Baked Ziti

Wow, was this super easy to make! O.k. so making it in the oven is pretty easy too but it can make your home super hot. Great for those winter months but definitely not good when it is 90 degrees outside!

The only things I have ever made in my crockpot prior to today were chili , sauces and soups. I had been hearing how you can make all sorts of things but was skeptical. But I was determined to try what to me seemed impossible. Pasta. As in dry pasta no boiling it first.

The ingredients (don't mind the mess all around)
I used about 3/4 of the box of pasta. Half the shredded cheese. All of the ricotta, the rest of the leftover cheddar. The whole jar of sauce then added about 1/2 jar of water to it. I actually didn't even use the sprinkle cheese (that's what I like to call it lol) nor did I use any seasonings since I wanted to make sure my son would eat it. This sauce in particular ended up having a lot of garlic flavor to it so it worked out well. I cooked it for about 2 hours I guess. I was surprised how fast it cooked.

Mix it all together (doesn't look too great)

It is done!

The Finished Product (I was lazy and decided to use some leftover paper plates)

I was very impressed with it. I was so scared it would either be : really soft and gross or really hard. It proved to be neither. I would definitely recommend tasting pieces of it while it cooks to determine when it is done. Also stir it from the bottom up. I would not throw this in while I was at the store (truthfully would be too scared the house would catch on fire) since you definitely want to make sure all the noodles cook and you don't get any dry ones. But seriously it was so super easy that I am going to try making a lasagna in it one of these days.
